immigration will not give you a visitors visa if there is probability that your parents will not return home at the end of their visitor term. From the outside looking in...the risk for CIC is very high. Do not be hopeful.

you are in a very difficult situation. you have made it very clear to CIC that you wish your parents to come and live with you - permanently. A visitors visa is your way to make this happen faster and without any chance of CIC declining your application. If CIC says no to your sponsorship - what are the chances of your parents returning to their home country? (that is the RISK). Their age only makes the situation worse. CIC and many others would suggest that your parents would not return home at the end of 6 months. Therefore, the chance of you being successful in bringing your parents for a ´visit´ is very small.

If you want to see your parents you would be wise to plan a trip to see them where they are living.

A "religious cerimony" does not provide any grounds for a succesful tourist visa request. As said before, in your case, the chances of getting a this visa, if any, are very slim. The best thing to do in your situation is wait for their application to be processed, or arranging a visit where they are.

I know I am sounding harsh...and I am sorry for that but I am attempting to give you what I know from my personal experience with Visitors Visas, and how I see CIC looking at this situation. The 100% truth of this situation is that you are unwilling to wait out the sponsorship process for your parents. Coming for a religious celebration is an manufactured excuse that will be 100% obvious to any immigration officer.

There is no harm in trying. It is a $150 exercise. On the CIC website there is a list of what must be done to have someone come for a vist. Make sure all the documents are complete and accurate. The worst that can happen is they will say no. But I am 99.9% positive that you will not be successful. Sorry I cannot be more positive.

visit this website. it says how much time it generally takes for the sponsorship application once it reaches to your regional office.

in canada phase one is taking 34 months currently to transfer your application from canada to your regional office.

hope this will help
