Subject: URGENT!!! STATUS CHANGED/PRGRANTED

hi everyone.

pls advise me here guys. i just went home to get married. I came back here in Canada just 2 days ago. I received a letter that my interview for PR is next week.

what do i do now? should i get my PR first, then submit for my spouse´s application? or submit my spouse´s first before i get PR? friends say, i can get PR first then, change my status later and submit my spouse´s applciation...

thanks in advance...

Technically you need to inform a change of status to CIC, if you haven´t done it then please do it before it is late. An interview is not a guarantee that you will get the PR. In some cases after the interview you get a negitive decision. So i would suggest that you should fulfill your obligation and submiit a change of stsus information to CIC and send the marriage certificate along with it. By the time you will be interviewed your documents and status update will be with CIC as well. So you can verbally inform the visa officer as wll that you have gotten married and you have submitted every piece of required documents. I hope this would save you time. Otherwise if you do not disclose it and get your PR and later on sponsor your spouse the marriage date and every thing will prove that you hid this ststus update from CIC which can create problems for you. A timely update would help them issue a medical form foryour spouse and they may do some background check etc. and both of you get your PR together. You may wait for a feedback from others as well, if i were you i would follow this procedure. Wait for others comments and then follow the appropriate advice. I am sure most of the people would agree with what i said. Because hiding a status change will not benefit you and probably create problems for you to bring your spouse at a later date. Good Luck!

If you do not inform CIC about your marriage and obtain PR status, you will never be able to sponsor your spouse. You may also lose your PR status due to misrepresentation.

Hey great friends!!!!!

Your friends are telling you to lie. You signed a form stating that it is a requirement to inform CIC of any change in status and your friends are telling you to lie!!!!!!!!!!

What you do is tell the TRUTH because if you don´t your partner may be found described IRPR 117 (9) (d) which means she is inadmissible and they may try to remove you for misrepresentation aka telling a lie!
