Subject: withdraw abusive spouse

Hi to all...

Pls help me with my case:

I work and live in Canada. I just launched my application for PR. Also, included is my beloved yet, emotionally abusive spouse, outside Canada. For minor stuffs, my spouse would suddenly get angry, or for no reason at all. Which i dont understand.

What should i do to exclude him on the process?

What is the effect of it on my PR application?

Life----stressful...

Thanks.

well, you are asking to exclude your spouse which means you have decided to seperate your ways, otherwise why would you exclude him, right?

I do not want to interfere in your personal matter that is whay i shall avoid giving you an advice about making things up and change your mind. If you want to exclude him, get divorce and notify CIC and you are done. This is a straight answer of a straight question with no details.

no lectures... just a hug.

apply alone (assuming your qualify), list him as non-accompanying spouse. You must list him but you do not have to include him in your application.

When you land, you can either sponsor him if he learns how to behave himself or you can file for divorce in Canada.

People apply separately all the time for a variety of reasons - so don´t beat yourself up unnecessarily.

Thanks Sharon.

I wished i knew that beforehand, just listing him, but not including him. i wished...

But what are the steps now? i submitted my application already, with him included in it.

Are there steps to follow? like how would i inform CIC?

Thanks..

write them a letter asking for him to be removed from the application. include your file number, date of birth etc. send it registered mail.

Should i detail my reasons for exclusion? or plainly just like that?

plain and simple. If they want more details you can always supply. They can do the math.

Spouse problem (in reply to: withdraw abusive spouse)
Hi all,

My spouse does not want to apply for Canadian Immigration. She is a UK citizen with just basic education(i even dont know whether she has qualified GCSE or not?). I qualify for the PR on my own. I have been pending applying for the last three years because of this problem. But now I am sick and tired of all this problem. While filling forms , what should I write. We are neither legally dovorced or separated. But actually we are mentally divorced from eachother. This means that I want to take a fresh start in Canada. However, if I write I am single, It will jeopardize my case, since we are listed as married in other embassies-UK, USA, etc, when I applied for visas for these embassies in the past. What should I do? suggestions will be appreciated.

you apply as married but your spouse is non-accompanying and therefore is not included in the application. However, you are NOT single.
