as long as you are enrolled full time at school, and living in your parents home... I cannot imagine a summer or part time job will be a problem.

My question is why would you list a part time summer job in the first place if you did list it at all?

Common sense has to prevail here because you will show that your a full time student, correct?

Hey masters,

thank you so much for the reply.

Yes, I will show that I am a part time student because I really am. I am full load and a graduating student this semester. I have been studying continuously and in full or near full load each semester.

And after I finish my Bachelor´s degree this october, I plan to take another course which is Nursing and I would still be a full time student....

It is not worth the money to take up part time job which may disqualify you as a dependent. Please do continue full time study so that you qualify as a dependent. DO NOT TAKE ANY RISK.

I mean I meant I am a full time student but I do have a part time job... my post above is incorrect.

The word dependent itself means you are dependent on someone. So either you are dependent or not . Part time means you are not completely dependent. The officers could use that against you. DO NOT TAKE A RISK

Dean, let´s be rational about this. full time student, living at home, reliant on Mom and Dad for housing, food and clothing. If you are all of the above and your part time job is for spending money, school books, and the odd luxury... I don´t think for a second that CIC would say you are no longer a dependent.

Every university student on the planet has a part time job.

Dean - I still think it is not worth the risk as CIC clearly states dependent should be a full time student and dependent financially on principal applicants. Do you really want to take the risk your future? this would be penny wise pound foolish. I know a family personally whose dependent was denied because they suspected she could be working.( details I cannot give here) please I would request you to reconsider. No offence to Sharon but she is NOT immigration officer or even a lawyer or consultant. She does try her best but remember everyone has limitations and she is making a mistake on positively assuring someone of which she has no knowledge or experience and putting someone future in jeopardy. If I was in your place I would never risk my immigration but it is your call.
