First, thanks so much for all the info you all have shared here! It´s been so helpful.
My boyfriend and I want to apply for PR as common law partners as we have lived together for over a year.
We live in Japan, but I am American and he is Japanese. I can send my application through Buffalo but would like to know if my boyfriend´s information will be accepted via that route as he is not American.
Any insight would be much appreciated! Thanks

(in reply to: common law + diff nationalities) If you are the principal applicant, you can apply through Buffalo or a country where you have been legally admitted for one year (currently residing). Include your boyfriend as common-law partner in the application. However, if your boyfriend is the principal applicant then he can only apply through visa office serving Japan.
