Subject: common law + diff nationalities
First, thanks so much for all the info you all have shared here! It´s been so helpful.

My boyfriend and I want to apply for PR as common law partners as we have lived together for over a year.
We live in Japan, but I am American and he is Japanese. I can send my application through Buffalo but would like to know if my boyfriend´s information will be accepted via that route as he is not American.

Any insight would be much appreciated! Thanks

If you are the principal applicant, you can apply through Buffalo or a country where you have been legally admitted for one year (currently residing). Include your boyfriend as common-law partner in the application. However, if your boyfriend is the principal applicant then he can only apply through visa office serving Japan.
