| Subject: Transfer from Buffalo to Seattle |

Hi,
I would like to know if my case is transferred from Buffalo to Seattle, and I have to send a few updated documents to CIC, where should I send them? Buffalo or Seattle?
Seattle has not informed me yet that they received my file but Buffalo indicated they will send my case to them soon. Does my file number remains the same or I have to wait for Seattle to provide me with a new number?

If you have not received anything from Buffalo with the contact info for Seattle and/or anything from Seattle (i.e - a letter informing you that they have your application, a letter arranging an interview, etc), I would recommend sending any updated documents to Buffalo. If you should´ve sent them to Seattle, I´m sure that Buffalo will either return them and give you the contact information for Seattle or they´ll forward them to Seattle for you.
Of course, these are only assumptions...so I may be wrong. My permanent residence application was never transferred to another office once it was received by Buffalo, so I´m not 100% sure how it works. If I´m wrong about any of this, I encourage people to correct me.

File transfer usaully takes somewhere from 6 to 9 months. I think you should keep your additional docs on hold until you are notified of the file transfer by Seatle CIC office. You will have same file number but once transfer to the Seatle you case will be processed and completed there.
