| Subject: AOR without processing time |

Hello. Good day to all. I filed my PR application last June 27, 2008 and I received my file number on July 23, 2008. The AOR does not indicate how long is the processing time. Is it normal? Others claim that the expected processing time should be indicated in the AOR.I checked the status of my application at the CIC website and it stated that the processing of my application started July 8. Is there a permanent file that I should wait for because in the AOR I was told that they created a provisional file? Thank you to anybody who would answer.

The AOR does not show any info regarding the processing time.
The next step is to wait for the intial assessment result. They will send you a letter. It usually takes 5-8 months to hear from them. Because of the new rules, things may take longer.
