Subject: Canadian Experience Class |

I read in the www.cic.gc.ca website that they recently announced the Canadian Experience Class, which is a new avenue of immigration for certain temporary foreign workers and foreign student graduates with professional, managerial and skilled work experience. Unlike other programs, the Canadian Experience Class allows an applicant´s experience in Canada to be considered a key selection factor when immigrating to Canada."
I was wondering if I qualify under this new class. According to the site, graduates of a Canadian post-secondary educational institution with Canadian work experience must meet the following minimum requirements:
successful completion of a program of study of at least two academic years*;
one year of skilled, professional or technical work experience; and
language abilities appropriate to occupational skill level.
Can my work experience in Canada, as a foreign diplomat, be considered as Canadian work experience? I believe my profile is a match with these requierements. However, I would like to verify this.
I have already sent my application under the Federal Skilled Worker program and it is beign processed, according to E-CAS. If I do qualify for the Canadian Experience Class, will it be possible to change my application from the Federal Skilled Worker to this new class?
