(in reply to: Economy Depression) It has profound affects in eastern Canada; (Ontario & Quebec as most populus & US manufacturing based).
Not much in the western Canada as their economy is not much US based. However, even Alberta the golden duck lost jobs in the month of July.

To answer your major concern; don´t worry. Immigration number has very little to do with losing or gaining economy. It may be increased in case of good job market, but to assure you it won´t be reduced in case of bad economy. The agressive professional class immigration was initiated in the early 90s when the entire North American economy was in a shamble, a great depression.

(in reply to: Economy Depression) good thinking, Most of the big famrs and Companies and Industries founded in Canada have their bases in the US. So a weakening US economy would surely hit Canadian economy, but Canada still have huge Natural gas reserve and working skilled manpower to surve in those economic turmoils.
But One thing is for sure, ppl migrating to Canada will have their lucks pounded with no Canadian degree, coz getting a job in Canada without a Canadian education would virtually be Impossible. So better be less Enthusiastic.
