Subject: To Sir Roy and Madam Sharon I need advise ):
  --- It´s about this....

is 22 years of age or older and, since before the age of 22, has

been continuously enrolled and in attendance as a full-time student in a post secondary institution accredited by the relevant government authority and
depended substantially on the financial support of a parent; or

------------------------------------------------------------------
MY STORY:

My parents were sponsored late of 2006, I was included in the sponsorship as a dependent child.

I´ll be finishing my Bachelor´s degree in Information Technology here in a big University here in Manila, Philippines on October 2008, next month . I am 22 years old, and since I have to be a full time student until such time that the visa is issued to us. I have to take another course right?

My problem is this, I´ve been very interested to study Bachelor of Education in Special Education, when I inquired if I could study on this course on the same University, the course chairman said that they won´t allow me to take the undergraduate course of Special Education which is the Bachelor´s degree of Special Education, but instead they said I should enroll the CERTIFICATE IN TEACHING SPECIAL EDUCATION because they said I am already a Bachelor´s degree holder I don´t need to take another one.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
here are the course info.
COURSE NAME: CERTIFICATE IN TEACHING SPECIAL EDUCATION
ADMISSION REQUIREMENT: A graduate of Bachelor´s Degree
DESCRIPTION: The program is designed to qualified professionals who wish to have a background knowledge in the field of Teacher Education. This 42 unit program includes courses in Professional Education that would pave them the way to acquire Competence in teaching. Likewise, this would qualify them to take the Licensure Exam for Teachers. required by Profesinoal Regulation COmmision.
------------------------------------------------------------------

After I finish this 3 term course, I can already take the Licensure Examination for Teachers as required by Philippine Regulation Commission, and can therefore proceed to the Master´s Degree course because I cannot study directly to master´s since I graduated a very far Bachelor´s degree which is in a computer field.

NOTE: I´ll be enrolling on the same University.

My question is:

1. My sister who sponsored me is worried that maybe the course would eventually disqualify me in the Sponsorship since It´s only a Certificate course? I asked the school about it, they said it´s just a preparatory course before I could take the Master´s degree for Special Education, because I am not allowed to take Masters for teaching coz I don´t have a background in teaching

2. Does course really matter? The certificate makes me a full time student though because each term has 16 full units....

NOTE: I am enrolling on a same University where I took my Bachelor´s degree.. It´s a biggest University actually in our City.

if the school and the course is accredited, I believe you are in safe territory.
