| Subject: What Can i bring? 2yr work permit (by car) |

I´m leaving in about 10 days to drive to Regina. I have two small toddlers, 3 and 4 years old. I need to know what I can or Can´t bring with me when i drive into Canada. I would like to bring my comptuer, my 21" television, and possibly my dvd player. Along with our clothing and stuff. Can i do that? Will they take away my things at the border? Will they give me a hard time. I need to take some things with me. Being that i´ll be there for 2 years it´s a lot of money to buy everything when you get there. Every little thing adds up. Everything from a shower curtain to something to sleep on.
Please someone give me some insight.

At the border, you will be asked what you are bringing into the country. Declare what you have, and be prepared to declare an approximate dollar value.
Estimate that everything you buy in Canada will cost approximately 50% more than it would in the US. So yes, bring everything you possibly can. Good planning can save you a lot of money.
