I´m from the U.S. and I´m going to visit my husband soon. I read somewhere on this forum that you don´t always need a job offer to work. Is that true? If I wanted to get a regular job at a place like Wal-mart would I need a job offer for that? Thanks.

That is true if you are legally able to work in the country. i.e. you have a work visa or PR. If you do not, you will not be able to obtain a SIN number and will not be able to work. Visitors to the country are here to do just that ~ visit, not work...

let´s be clear - no work permit... no work. If you get caught, it could impact future chances of immigration approval.

if you have an inland sponsorship application in the system you can apply for an open work permit.
