Subject: Landing question
My husband, son and I have sent the passport for PR visa. Based on our medicals I think we would need to land by Feb 2009. Due to my current personal issues, I will not be able to land before visa expiry.

My questions:

1. Can my husband land alone and become a PR of Canada?
2. If I dont land, can I get my landing fee of $490 back?
3. If my husband becomes PR, and my landing visa expires, can he sponsor me and my son for PR later??

Please help and thanks for your responses.

I recommedn you do your best to land before the visa expiry...otherwise you have to go through the pain of waiting again....Having waited for years to get the PR and then being unable to land is very frustrating and painful...
You just need to cross the border and make a U-turn and leave..no need to wait to get the PR card..

- Once the visa expires, it cannot be extended WHATSOEVER save time and efforts of contacting cic).

-Yes, the PR fees are refundable. Just write a formal letter where your visa is issued and they will refund the money.

- I don´t think that all of you have to land together..Your husband can land alone since he is the primary applicant and get the PR...(..wait for other responses)and then he can sponsor you...but I am afraid that a question will arise about why you couldn´t do the landing..the reasons should be convincing..
