Subject: Questions regarding immigration and spounsoring wi
  Hi there...

I am working in Canada since 1.5 year. I have few questions regarding immigration and spounsoring wife to Canada. I had applied for permanent residency and given medical test 4 months back and I am waiting further response from Canadian immigration office from Seattle. As I understood immigration procedure that now I have to submit my passport at immigration office at Seattle for further verification then my immigration stamping will be done on my passport, after that I have to cross the Canada´s border to get permanent resident card.

My questions / doubts are

1) After 2 months from now I am going to India for marriage purpose that time will cross the border & return to Canada for immigration. Simultaneously after the marriage in India I will apply spouse visit or work permit visa based on my work permit visa. Is it possible that my wife will get visit or work permit visa? And also will I get permanent residency while returning to Canada?

2) Suppose if don?t get PR card before going to India. Can I go to India without PR card? Once I received PR card in Canada, my friend will forward PR Card to me India by courier, so that I can return to Canada. Then I will do my wife?s immigration procedure in Canada. Is this way possible?

Please advice & guide on these questions or any other procedure

Thanks,

your questions are very confusing. I will do my best.

1) If you are in the very final stages of your PR application, DO NOT change your marital status before you complete your landing. If you do... you commit misrepresentation to the Canadian government and you could lose your PR. Not only that, you would not be allowed to sponsor your wife.

2) should you wish to marry, do it now and advise CIC about the change and add your wife to your SW application. It will delay your application but you will not get caught with the law.

3) option 3, complete your landing, THEN get married and sponsor her - but you will be required to be in Canada to begin the process. She will not be eligible to work in Canada until the process completes. She may not even be allowed to come for a visit. CIC gets silly about this stuff.

4) not sure about your work permit situation and how you add a spouse after the fact. not sure you can do it.

Whatever you do - DO NOT hide your status change with CIC.

Thanks Sharon!

What is meaning of SW application?

Regarding my second question If my immigraton is complete before marriage and If I don´t get PR card before going to india. Suppose my friend can sent PR card to india, so that i can return to canada with PR card.

Then I will sponsor my wife for immigration? Is it possible that PR card can sent to india thro courier for returning or I need to apply travel documents in india?

Please advise.

Thanks once again.

yes, a PR card can be sent to India. SW is a skilled worker application. that is what you would have done to get your PR card. if you are simply talking about a work permit, you are truly confused in how this all works.
