Subject: The NVC sent us an EXPIRED visa.
  Hi,
My husband and I have been working on our visa for over a year now (we were married Dec. 31, 2006).
He is American, I am Canadian.
After much confusion of how long the process was taking, we contacted the NVC to find out that he had been approved but that they had the incorrect mailing address, so all the notices were not getting to us. We remained in conversation about this through emails and we were reassured that he still had time to send in his passport to get his visa placed inside and that we still qualified.

So we sent in the passport finally, received it back, only to discover that it was expired upon arrival. Not only that, we calculated that it must have been expired when they placed it in the passport. We are avid travelers and have never had a government put an expired visa in our passports. So now what do we do? We understand that there was some initial confusion about the mailing address, but it hardly seems fair to even bother putting a visa in your passport if it is expired.

We have sent them an email and will call the NVC soon, but we are afraid that we will have to spend MORE money and wait another year or so before we can finally live and work together. We are losing hope fast.

We would love some help on this.
