My understanding is that your file will be opened at LHW on the given date. LHW is a code for the CIC office where your file will be sent to.

Judging by the timelines you have given, I presume you have applied outside continental US. Most of the cases I know of at locations within US have the BF´D date as one year from the day the application is received.
