Subject: Is this true?
I will be applying for inland sponsorship to my wife soon. I was looking on this forum and came across this: "While the inland application is in process, the applicant must maintain their legal status in Canada. If at anytime they aren?t considered to be legally in Canada they will no longer be eligible for inland sponsorship and the chance of their application be rejected is highly likely."

Does that mean while my application is in process I have to apply for an extension to my visit?

what is the date on that post. there were rule changes that now allow you to be out of status and still apply. the only criteria, you must have arrived in Canada legally.
