MIAMI (Reuters) - Republican presidential nominee John McCain said on Friday an Ohio man dubbed "Joe the Plumber," who raised questions about Democrat Barack Obama´s tax plan, was being smeared by Democratic attacks.

Media outlets have since found, since the debate, that the ´Joe´ in question isn´t actually a licensed plumber after all. In addition, he never did a plumbing apprenticeship, never finished his plumbing courses, is a registered Republican, works for a heating and venting company, can´t afford to buy the business he claimed he wanted to buy, doesn´t make enough money to reach Obama´s $250,000 tax increase threshold (he earns around $40,000 a year), and owes back taxes.

And Joe admits that, under Obama´s plan, he´ll get a tax decrease.

Oh yeah - and his name is actually Sam

He was also recruited to show up at a McCain rally before the infamous interview. He used to be a Conservative talk show host, and is a willing distraction. Too bad for him now all his baggage--not the least including his back taxes he won´t pay--is out there for all of the world to see.

Hiding in today´s world when you waive a flag and say I´m this or that is from an era as old as McCain!

The days of the swift boat boys are over in American politics. Obama has a mega Army of researches to dispute any dirty smear campaigns.

Just have to say go OBAMA!!! But as sad and bad as it sounds, I highly suspect that if he is elected, he may get assasinated.

The reality, unfortunately, is that this isn´t just mere entertainment. This is a new low in American politics, and a highly dangerous game. The US has a history of assassinations and rioting, and anyone who knows their world history should be able to see where all this might be headed.

These are extremely volatile times, and we can only hope that the flames can be put out before things get out of control.

Think again wannabe

What is happening in the states is that the populous is getting involved in their national election by the hundreds of thousands.

People are registering to vote that have never voted and who are 90 something years old.

Colin Powell came out and supported Obama today and he based his reasons on two things.

That Palin with her extreme right wing views may be the President one day and she may force the Supreme court to appoint a couple of far right wing Judges changing the make up of the Supreme Court.

People have two very different and interesting leaders to choose from in the States.

In Canada like Bill said perfectly Canadian´s had Dumb, Dumber and DION!!!!

Sooooo many said there is nothing to choose from so they stayed home instead of voting.

It is great to see so many Americans involved and caring about democracy.

We should not worry about the things we can´t change and not worry about the things we can change. Focus on the positive I see nothing but hopes and dreams coming true real soon.

I hope you´re right Roy.

I agree that it´s great to see so many involved in democracy; the thing that scares me is those who want to squelch it. Those who are calling liberals anti-American just because they hold different values (see Minnesota´s Representative Buchman) and those who are so full of ignorant hatred (see anyone at a Palin rally).

We´ve proudly cast our votes for Obama, and we´ll be watching closely on November 4.
