Subject: Sponsoring my parents and sister |

hello! I just became a permanent resident at the beginning of this year. My husband who is a canadian citizenship sponsored me. Now I would like to sponsor my parents and sister. I am a housewife so I don´t have any proof of income. Can I still sponsor my family? How do I go about that? Can my husband sponsor them under his income? Also, my sister is 18 but she is a dependent... can I sponsor her or is she over age?

(in reply to: Sponsoring my parents and sister) You are the sponsor and your husband is the co-sponsor. Yes your sister can come as long as she remains a dependent as defined in the regulations.

(in reply to: Sponsoring my parents and sister) Wow...thank you for that quick reply Roy. Just one more quick question, is there a wait period before my husband can co-sponor for my family since he just sponsored me? I hope that question makes sense because I don´t know how else I can put it.

(in reply to: Sponsoring my parents and sister) Roy, does a co-sponsor need to clear the initial spousal sponsorship undertaking before they can assume a new sponsorship?
