Subject: are the application points frozen?
hey guys,

can someone answer what points are calculated under the simplified process at the time of evaluation - the points you have submitted with the application, or the newly ones acquired as well, like for example from longer working time?

thanks

They calculate your points based on the information you submitted in your application. If in the meantime, something changes that might affect your points total, you need to contact them and request that your application be updated with this new information. At their discretion, they can then change your points total based on this new information.

thanks for the reply,

i was wondering whether to contact them, since they state several times at the cic website that applicans should contact them strictly in connection with change of address only.

There have been many instances discussed here of applicants sending qualification and background change updates for their previously submitted applications. I think the CIC website highlights address change updates, since this is the most common change. Nowhere does it say that changes are restricted to address change only. Exact wording from CIC for reasons to send update:

"Notifying the visa office of any changes to personal information on your application, such as your address, phone and fax numbers or a change in the makeup of your family."

It wouldn´t hurt your application to do so anyway, only benefit.
