Subject: sponsoring other relative...pls help Roy/Sharon
I want some advise from this site. My friend is a PR and soon to apply for citizen. He´s single, and alone here (no relative at all) all his family are back home (his parents are still alive). His income is big enough to sponsor. His parents are not interested to come here and they are old already, is there any possiiblity that he can sponsor his sibling instead? Can you please clarify this matter.

Depending on which province you are in, you may be able to sponsor under PNP. Alberta and Manitoba have such a program, check with your province.

Try Saskatchewan..you have to live at least 1 year to sponsor under PNP..on other province you have to live more than 2 yrs.

Ray,

We live in Toronto, Ontario. I am not so sure if my friend will consider moving to another province as he already good career in Toronto.

Roy,

The way I understand from the immigration law, it´s not possible for him to get other relative as long as his parents are alive. Am I correct. But I heard a colleague that a parent can make a waiver to declare that they are not interested to come to Canada. I don´t know if it´s right or wrong.

Thanks to all who share their thoughts on this matter.
