Subject: enquiries
  Hello,

I am from Calcutta, India. I am making a plan to get a job and permanent residency in Canada. Here I put forward my profile. I have some quires to be answered.
Looking forward. Just saying thanks to you I guess on this regard will be not enough.

Age: 35

Undergoing a 6-months course on medical transcription from a recognized institute in Calcutta, it is almost about to end in November.

1. Job offer: do I fit the bill for job- offer/ apprenticeship in Canada
2. Work visa: how long it takes to complete the process. Is there any liable agent in Calcutta that deals with immigration?
3. IELTS general: what is the pass mark for this test. Is there any online assistance regarding this.
4. Books on immigration: can you name some publishers that highlight on immigration.
5. What is the difference between a citizenship and a permanent resident
6. What will the total costing (in Indian currency) for the whole process?

Quick Answers: (in reply to: enquiries)
I can provid quick answers to the following:
3. IELTS general: what is the pass mark for this test. Is there any online assistance regarding this.

There is no pass or fail marks. If you score 7 out of 10 in any of the 4 modules (Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening) you get 4 points for immigration. You can get maximum 16 points out of this test.

4. Books on immigration: can you name some publishers that highlight on immigration.

Gone are the olden days, when you used to refer to books. Now you only need their website and some discussion forums like this one.

5. What is the difference between a citizenship and a permanent resident.

After landing you become PR, and only after 5 years, you can apply for citizenship.

6. What will the total costing (in Indian currency) for the whole process?

Application fee and Landing fee is the major chunk of the cost. Other costs you can take as about 10% of the major chunk. Approx. conversion rate these days is about 45 Indian rupees for one canadian dollar.

Hope that helps.

One can apply for anything and I can walk on the moon, yeah right. Medical Transcriptionist is an occupation that would be suitable but there are other factors.

You were given advice to look at the Immigration web site.

I doubt you spent two minutes there. Go back there and look at the left side and click on the link Immigrate because that is what you want to do.

You need to look at skilled worker class then click on who can apply. That page and the one after tells you all you should know.
