(in reply to: IELTS) Anon, Your opinion does not matter.
Mani, if you wanna delay your apllication or risk it then give your life history on a paper and save your money.
Or simply take the test..if you are so long in US, IELTS would not matter for you, or does it??

(in reply to: IELTS) based on the post, I would say you need to take the test and prove your ability. That said, I would wait with your entire application until CIC clarifies the new rules. Currently your application is going to be waiting in a pile for further instructions so there is no real hurry.

Reply to the IELTS posting (in reply to: IELTS) It depends on the officer evaluating your case.
My case was similar to yours and I submitted all documents without the test results. After a couple of months i got a letter from the candian consulate in which they decided i need to give the ILETS test. I would recommend you do the test. Its not east to get the dates for the test immediately.
Hope this helps.

Advise on IELTS (in reply to: IELTS) Hi,
I am working in Canada for the past one year on a work permit. Just applied for PR. I am just 1 point short for qualifying marks for PR, if 16 marks are not awarded for language proficiency. I give lectures and write research articles in English. I find from the forum, even if all the documents are provided showing English proficiency, IELTS is a basic requirement. My query is
1. Will they provide at least 1 or 2 marks for language skill with out IELTS? CIC site mentions 4 points for basic skill.
2. If IELTS is required, shall I wait for any letter from CIC or go ahead and take it?
3. Or just be prepared for IELTS, in case they ask.
Advise appreciated.
