| Subject: Landed Immigrant was out of the country few yrs |
A landed immigrant had to leave due to his parents failing health,he has been out of the country for roughly 10 yrs and would like to return with his wife and two children. He has his SIN #,which he got before his return please advise how can he can return.

My partner is in this type of boat (about 10 years also) however she was on her parents visa back then), the website says you need to apply, however there seems a delay as they will want to pull all the history out about this... I would wait for someone else who knows the ins and outs of all of this....

you need to be IN CANADA 2 years out of the last 5 or your status is gone. You can request humanitarian and compassionate consideration but you better have a very good excuse why you have been out of the country.
10 years to look after sick parents is a very long time and I would not hold out a lot of home that your status will be reinstated.
