Trolls hang out here trying to find anyone who they can discredit and make a name for themselves. Why because they have no client´s.

Recently I made a mistake. NOT REALLY!

In the GTA the only office one can walk into is Toronto Central on St. Clair Avenue East. In theory one can get landed if they have a COPR from their Visa Post if they are on a work permit. Now this question was supposedly posted by a guy named George hmmmmm.

George got nine responses but he never appeared again in that posting - I know he will now surface from under the bridge.

In Scarborough CIC Toronto East there is a security Guard at the door and no officer, at Etobicoke there is two commissionaires wanting to know your purpose for being there, Mississauga CIC has a clerk who will very likely not open the door unless you have an appointment. St. Clair only wants to see emergency cases.

Now anyone here as a foreign worker on an employer specific work permit probably can enter the US easily or has a TRV which will allow them to go and come.

Why would anyone risk having their medical expire and the COPR would then expire to save themselves a tank of gas or a few hundred dollar return ticket to the Caribbean?

Remember just because Immigration says you can do something it doesn´t mean the ones doing the work actually want to do what you want. Government employees are not happy because they claim they are already over worked.

Common Sense has to prevail, here. In theory any man can walk on the moon but who among us George/Anonymous 29.23.218 has actually walked on the moon.

Anonymous 29.23.218 I suggest you post a telephone number here of any CIC office that will answer the phone and arrange for anyone on a work permit to be Landed from within Canada!

Hi Roy,

Can I ask you one question please: Can one run 2 schemes at the same time?- I´ll give you the big picture: I applied under the federal scheme 2 years ago and just this year realized I qualified for the quebec scheme. I applied, got the CSQ and have sent my application off for PR. However, I got an update letter for the fed scheme yesterday and am not sure if it would be counterproductive. I actually indicated on the recent application for PR that I would be withdrawing the federal one but didn´t get around doing that until I got the update letter. An immigration consultant advised that I can run the two together until I finally decide- Is it true?

You hired a consultant and he/she gave you advice. You can search manuals and please read the manuals at www.cic.gc.ca and get back up information.

Good Luck.

what is the advantage of Quebec selection 2 years in to a FSW application? I would think very little.
