Subject: Not sure what route to take - New application ?
I am not sure if I would need to re-apply again as a total new applicant, or am I legible for the travel document process. Can you please advise.

I have previously lived in Canada as a permanent resident for approx 1.1/2 years to 2 years. My father being the principle applicant immigrated taking the business route. Unfortunately after 1 year various business tie-ups/problems arose in the UK that my parents had to move back to the UK to sort these out.

Being of 18 years old and, dependent on parents, I continued to sty in Canada with my auntie and uncle, since I was studying at college. At the time my parents were hoping to return. However the tie-up of business in the UK collapsed that I could not keep the terms and conditions on my own residency, my father was the main applicant and wanted me back in the UK. Therefore I had to Voluntary give up residency and return back to UK.

At some point I have always wanted to return to Canada. That time is now right for me.

Since then my Circumstances have changed, I am now a skilled worker at degree level, and have a family. My wife is also a skilled worker at degree level; my son is 2 years of age.

Can you please advise me on which path to take in the immigration process?

If i read this right YOU did not have a visa application? you where on your parents?

If so this is identical to my partner (parents went over, she came back) you have to apply again, however you need to tell them you have already lived there, this will not be a short process, we are still waiting after over 2 years, it might be faster for you to get a job there then apply again (its 6 months maximum with that).

However from what i have seen living there before on someone elses visa seems to just delay the whole thing (as they need to check your details i would guess as no one from London CIC wants to talk to use about it.... they are doing Jan 2007 applications now, we are July 2006 with hearing nothing after sending letters and emails).

Many Thanks
Ashley
