Subject: beginning the process
Hi, i´m new to this board and thinking about going down the PR route. I´ve been here in canada almost a year, i have to apply for an initial work permit as my current one doesn´t allow for extensions. my employer has submitted for the LMO. depending on the outcome and if i get a work permit to remain here in canada i would like to apply for pr.

i´ve had all the usual nonsense suggestions, like i should marry my girlfriend. while i would marry her for genuine reasons of comittment and love it doesn´t rest easy with me. i´m not here cap in hand in canada begging for admission. I have my dignity and while i like canada it´s the be all and end all. i refuse to go down any road thats somewhat dishonest. i wont become illegal as i didn´t spend 5 years at university to end up washing pots (not that there´s anything wrong with that, it´s one of the many shitty jobs i´ve had) i´m young and professional, have a permamnet pensionable full time job in a skilled profession, can anyone here tell me the best route to go? what´s my quickest way to accomplish my goal without having to concoct a web of deceipt which i´m sure immigration has heard all before. i´m open to common law approach which i know i have to build up evidence of genuine relationship. i can do that even though it still seems contrived.

Questions
can i apply through buffola as a work permit holder? or do i have to go through london as i´m irish?

is there a lawyer out there who doesn´t want over 2000 dollars up front and would accept installments? i don´t have that type of money up front but have no problem paying it say in 3,4,500 dollar installments.

as i´m applying for concurrent processing for my work permit while my lmo is being processed should I ask for a visa for 2 years??? if i get a 2 year permit issued by cic can i get my PR in that time frame? any advice would be greatly appreciated. i don´t care much for bull, i require honesty and clarity a clear direction regardless if that direction is unpalatable. slan

thanks for the link. that route was one i condidered however I don´t have 2 years canadian work experience unfortunately. this is something that i would like to apply for or get underway immediately. do you know a reputable lawyer with a good track record by any chance. someone honest who´s more interested in the application than the money. i have no problem paying the money but don´t want to end up with some cowboy. i´m in toronto btw

thanks again though
