hi,
How much money I am supposed to bring to Canada on landing? I am from India making a plan to immigrate to Canada as skilled worker.
any input on this will be appreciated.

Disclosure of funds
If you arrive in Canada with more than C$10,000, you must disclose this information to the CBSA officer. If you do not disclose this information, you could be fined or put in prison. These funds could be in the form of:
cash
securities in bearer form (for example, stocks, bonds, debentures, treasury bills) or
negotiable instruments in bearer form, such as bankers? drafts, cheques, travellers? cheques or money orders.
You will not be allowed into Canada if you give false or incomplete information, or if you do not satisfy the officer that you meet the requirements for entry into Canada.

if you are single - a minimum of $10,160. cic website has all the financial information. Sometimes they ask when you land - sometimes they don´t. $10,000 does not get you very far by the time you rent a place to live, buy a little bit of furniture, get a cell phone, buy a bus pass and live for a few months while you find a job - the money goes away very fast.

As soon as you land , take a week of and after that take any night or evening job ,to have time in the morning ,that way you wont loose ur savings, go to an employement agency
