Subject: would they know?

if a person is recently married, and submitted her application for PR in Canada, but didnt change the marital status...for reason that she wont need to sponsor the spouse (living in Canada/ Citizen)...

would CIC know about it?

If you don´t advise CIC about your change in marital status (regardless of the logic) you are committing misrepresentation. that is ILLEGAL and could result in your application being refused.

Fix it fast.

Thanks Ms Sharon:

Actually this was what happened:

my friend went to her home country, with her Canadian fiance.

got married there:

when they came back, at the port of entry, the guy (Canadian) was asked about his long vacation...

then they said because they got married: and the officer wont believe...until they showed their pictures, and videos.

Now she submitted her PR application but didnt declare her status change.

im just wondering about the possible result of it.

What did I miss here?

Somebody after researching becoming a PR based on their education and occupational skills decided to apply as a FSW. Supposedly knowing the difference in processing times between the two application types.

Then that same educated person decided to marry a Canadian.

Then that same educated person made an informed decision not to include her partners name in her application.

Then that same educated person told her friends that she LIED on her application.

*******

What HAS the husband been doing all this time and why is a friend posting this question here? More important what school did she attend to learn that it is so important to be independent that it is better to lie then tell the truth?

Ms Sharon:

The guy is on social welfare.

I am a friend of the girl....i am just curious of what could possibly happen. I just want knowledge.

most of the times in our lives, we meet people beyond reasons...

sometimes lying is part of their life...as it is genetic.

i dont know. but i am sure...that is NEVER an excuse to any law...

Thanks Roy, and Ms Sharon.
