Subject: keep two of everything
a few days back I mentioned that we had our file closed because of postal problems. We lost 6 months and had to apply again. Calling the embassy and begging for reconsideration did not help.

I talked with my MP´s assistant who was very surprised that with ´proof of postage/courier´ that our appeal would be declined. It turns out that my fiance had sent everything to the embassy but the proof of postage. Bad decision (but I love him anyway)

So, on the encouragement of my government official we searched everywhere and found the postage receipt. My fiance spent an hour on the phone with the embassy today but was finally told in the end - ´send us proof that you sent it within the dates we requested and we will re-open your file.´

Because we had made copies of everything we had sent (CIC lesson #1) we have pulled all requested documents together in less than 24 hours. We will send by courier again tomorrow - with another receipt.

We should hopefully get our second $550 back or have it applied to our ROLF.

Lesson of the day... KEEP DUPLICATES of EVERYTHING - no matter how much it costs for photocopies and keep every single receipt. It just saved us 4 months and hopefully $550.

happy landings

Very good lesson, for me I had scaned each document I submitted to CIC and had a copy of them on a CD and my laptop. U know when I went to apply I found there were a missing document so I printed it out while I was at CIC office from my laptop and included it with my file. Without my laptop my file would had been returned to me NOT PROCESSED.

Very happy for u SHARON and your fiance and good u still love him despite that bad decision. It is really a bad decision. I envy him for having such a wonderful future wife.

God bless u all

My Application was declined (in reply to: keep two of everything)
Hi,

I read your post, hopefully everything works out for you. I would like to tell u a little bit about my case and get some advise also. My application was declined in skilled workers category. I am presently living in Atlanta GA working as a Network analyst, I applied in skilled workers category on December 19, 2001 from the US. I received notification for my medical which was done, my interview was scheduled for April 14, 2004 in Detroit which went well. Lately on the Canadian website on teh e-client statusit said that a decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision. Well the did contact me and refused my application stating that your experience is not solid enuf for u to get the required points where as i have been working in the US as a Netwrok Analyst for nearly a year so i dont know whats up with these ppl. So now i am wanting to appeal and have them reconsider my case any advise in this regard.

Regards

Adnan
