Subject: Travelling after pr card expires |

Hi
Is it possible to travel out of canada once the pr card expires
my pr card is soon going to expire and i need to travel . i have already submitted the papers for renewal.( i am aware that we need to send proof of urgency the plane tickets ) but apart from that can we travel with an expired pr card. Has anyone travelled pls reply to this msg.

(in reply to: Travelling after pr card expires) No problem many hundreds of people have to travel after being a PR for more then a decade and they don´t even have a PR card.
A Family emergency or CIC lack of prompt processing should not be a reason to prevent you from travelling.
Take plenty of proof your residing in Canada and obtain a single entry visa from the home countries Visa post.

(in reply to: Travelling after pr card expires) If returning from the US by perosnal vehicle then expired PR card is fine provided that you have good evidence supporting you didn´t violate the min´m residency requirements.
Commercial careers (plane or train) wouldn´t let you to board without a valid card.
