Roy/ Sharon: here is an update from me...
7 August, 2008: My husband and I got married in India according to Hindu, bengali customs. We are both bengalis. He is a Canadian citizen
1 October 2008: He mails our kit to CIC, Mississauga
7 November 2008: My husband gets a letter saying that PPB´s application has been sent to Canadian High Commission, New Delhi
5, December 2008:
I got a letter from CHC, New Delhi today titled "Canadian High Commission- Document Request Letter"
CHC, New Delhi has asked me to submit my passport and details of foreign travel on an attached form.
Advise and suggestions requested from you please...

From what I have read elsewhere, New Delhi often asks for the passport at the beginning of the process ~ as does Manila. They will still need to process your medical, criminal check, etc. I wouldn´t pack your bags just yet, but you are getting closer.

Thank you Carrie.
With the request for passport document that they sent, CHC, New Delhi also returned all the wedding, honeymoon and engagement pictures we had sumbitted with the original application to CIC in Toronto.
I couriered them my passport today.
