Ok...maybe I misread something. I am a French teacher in Maryland who has been wanting and looking into moving to Canada, Winnipeg in particular, for about a year now. I had my credentials verified in Manitoba and I can get a provisional teaching certificate once I obtain either a work permit or PR status. What´s holding me back? A job offer and/or settlement funds.
However, I read on Qu?bec´s site the other day they require a 3-month settlement fund amount of somewhere around $2,800CA. Is this in addition to the Federal Government´s 10,000? Or is Qu?bec easier to get into? I know they require everyone to have snow tires...are there other hidden fees there?
Although ultimately I´d like to end up in Winnipeg, if the way into Canada is through another province, like Qu?bec, then sign me up.
Comments (polite ones)? Advice?

(in reply to: Qu?bec?) settlememt funds are less for Quebec but you need to clear the Quebec selection.
arranged employment or workpermit, as you say... removes the settlement fund requirements.

(in reply to: Qu?bec?) 38 occupations does not apply to Quebec. They select their own applicants. The best thing you can do is look at their site and figure out whats right for you.
