| Subject: Work permit denied (sabbatical) |

My Brother a professor from Shiraz University (Iran) was invited for a short sabbatical from university of guelph (ontario).
The invitation asked him to obtain a work permit from the Canadian Embassy.
His application for work permit was rejected because the visa officer was not satisfied that he would leave Canada by the end of his stay period because of "limited ties to Iran".
Please advise.

You have to show ties to your country such as investments, land properties, business, job,..etc. You might forgot to provide a letter showing your title as university professor as well as your salaries and a confirmation that the job is preserved upon you return from the sabbatical. Reapply with these documents.
