Subject: Transfer of files
  Dear Sir/Madam

I have applied to skilled work immigration in Egypt dating august 2005. They started processing my case on september 25th 2005. A few weeks ago i received an email asking me to whether iam interested to continue or to get a refund of my money since the next step will be an update of my information.

right now iam in the USA since 1 year and expected to be here for 1 more year. I asked the cairo immigration office in egypt for a transfer and they asked me to send an official request with my signature and file number to transfer it to buffalo, NY office.

My question is .. If i transfer my file will i be starting from square 1 again ( the zero point again) or will it be processed from where it was in the cairo office. I really need ana expert advice since i find lots of rumors about being at the end of the queue and zero point again.

the cairo office also told me that the AOR will remain with the same date. So do you thin i should take that step, will it make things faster or shall i stay in egypts office knowing that i will return back to egypt in 9 months time..

all opinions much appreciated

do you fall within the 38 NOC codes that are currently listed as preferred occupations on the CIC website? if so - you may wish to withdraw your application and file again. It could very well go faster than your current application.

Roy... what do you think?

A friend of mine has transferred his file from Damascus, Syria to Buffalo, NY. He wrote a letter to Damascus office explaining why he wanted to transfer the file. He didn´t start from zero. Buffalo office just asked for updated information. His file went faster (compared with Egypt) and finished eveything within few months.

Do not withdraw your application. It will go much faster than Egypt as the workload on Buffalo is much less.

As a specialist MD, your job is listed. Therefore, don´t worry.

Go ahead and transfer the file. Buffalo is expected to ask you for the following:

- A proof of your legal stay in US (visa status).
- FBI clearance (very easy to issue).
- Update of bank funds
- Update of education/experiences

Write the following letter to Egypt office

RE: File ID No.

Dear Sir/Madam-

I am writing to request that you transfer my permanent residence application file# XXX from your office to the offfice of Buffalo, New York, USA.

I have moved to the United States in the year of XXXX. Since xxx, I have been working as xxxxx in xxxxx (see enclosed). I am not expected to finish my work/training before the year of xxx. Therefore, I will not be able to follow up my file while being in the United States. Moreover, due to US visa restrictions, I won´t be able to leave the States to conduct any interview (if any)in Egypt. Because of these compelling reasons, the transfer of my file to Buffalo office is kindly requested and highly appreciated.

It is noteworthy that my qualifications are in demand in Canada (my NOC is XX and it is listed amongst the new NOC). Hence, I am very interested in completing my permanent residence application.

I like also to take this chance to update my address. The new address is:

Dr.XXX
XXXXX
XXXXXXX NJ
USA
Cell:XXXX
Email:XXXXX
Fax:XXXX

All the future correspondences (either from your office or from Buffalo office, if the file transferred- should be sent to the above address).

Thanks for your consideration.

Yours,

Dr. XXXXXXXX

Enclosure:
Current work enrollment in XXXXXXX

Allah ma3ak....

Once you get the letter from Egypt office that your file has been transferred, it is exremely important that you write to Buffalo to make sure that they have your address in US. The only method of communication is the mail!

The average processing time of file in Buffalo is 1- 1 1/2 year.

After five years of filing his file in Damascus office, my friend transferred his file to Buffalo and was completed within 3-4 months!!!!!!.

Allah ma3ak and happy eid.

Dermatologist is NOT listed in the 38 occupations. That particular information by Anonymous above is incorrect.
