Subject: Question for MEL
  Hello Mel,

Can you tell me when did you and your husband sent the application? You said you got your request for passport, that is great, congratulation and welcome to Canada.

I have a question, did you pay your fees upfront, include your medical exam, your State and FBI clearance report?
We are including all that in our application.

Any tip would be more then welcome.

Hi,

This was the timeline for my application.

July 2nd, 2004 - sent completed application(s) to the Mississauga CPC. The applications were received on July 6th.

August 6th, 2004 - Mississauga approves my husband for sponsorship, my PR application forwarded to Buffalo for processing.

October 6th, 2004 - Buffalo sends my acknowledgement of receipt (FINALLY!). They started processing my application on October 5th.

Decemeber 20th, 2004 - Buffalo sends letter stating that they´ve completed processing my application and that I need to send my passport in within 30 days. (I received this letter on December 30th).

Yes, my husband and I paid all the fees upfront. The $75 for his sponsorship application, the $475 for the processing of my PR application, and the $975 Right of Permanent Residence fee. I also included the paper that the doctor who performed my medical exam gave me, and both the FBI & state clearances.

If you´re including all of this yourself, you should be good. If your application is pretty straight forward (i.e - it´s just you and your husband) and you include plenty of proof of your relationship with your husband; your application will hopefully go through fairly quickly.

Sounds very good! (in reply to: Question for MEL)
Thank you for your replay. You must be very happy for getting your visa within 6 months.I get very happy and excited when hear that some people get their visas that fast.
We will be mailing our application within a week or so. Before I mail it, we will be paying all of our fees in advance. Medical is done, we got State and FBI clearance report, have so much proof (phone bills, plane tickets, vacation receipts, hotel receipts, 4 letters from our friends and his family that lives in Canada and lots of pictures).
Just gotta sit tight at least 6 more months and my hubby will be here.
All the best to you and hope you like it here.
