Subject: IELTS or self declaration letter
  Hi all,

I applied to the London office for immigration in Dec 03. i got my AOR in Feb 04. Nothing heard after that so far! In my application i had written a self declaration letter on the proof of language proficiency rather than the IELTS. Has anyone done the same? Also i would like to know what they ask in intial assessemet and docs sent? Will they be asking me to take the IELTS at a later stage and will the self declaration letter slow down the process? all advices are highly appreciated. thanx well in advance!!

Dear
I did the same. if u have got AOR it means everything is ok with your aplication at this stage, CIC will not ask you to take IELTS any how but you will not be sure that how many pionts CIC gives you against your explaination.

I submit evidence instead, by the way, I applied in Buffalo at the end of Nov last year. I am currently fourth year student at MUC Nanaimo, B.C. Same as you, what I can do is cross fingers and wish officers would not let me take IELTS, sure I can take it, but I am not sure if I can get 7, as you know, I am no longer ESL students for quite a while.

list of evidence I submit

1. Cover letter and a letter explain how, when did I get my English skills.
2 Reference letter from department Dean, previous employees(all in Canada)
3, some photos I took in B.C resort task force(with B.C transportation minister), CBC radio two studio( I am one of guests)
4, some certificates, like CPR, FIRST AID, FOOD SAFE

I gonna for sure faint if they said those are not qualified
