Subject: Is CIC returning some applications
First of all Merry Christmas to all.

My uncle applied under skilled worker category and he is a teacher by profession. His lawyer told him that CIC is reurning some applications back and probably he will get a NO as under new occuptions listed by CIC, teachers have no place in Canada or i should phrase it like this that Tecahers are not high in demand. is it true? Is there chances that he will be refused. he applied from USA through buffalo embasy in USA.

depends when he applied - if it was after Feb 2008, the answer is yes. if it is before... they will likely offer him the choice of a refund or the opportunity to wait in a neverending line.

it is true that Canada has an oversupply of teachers.

Thanks, Sharon. He applied before Feb 28th, 08. Probably, he will be given a choice as you mentioned. So what should be a course of action for such applicants? What do you suggest?

Finding a job is not difficult but employers are not willing to get into the paper work and HRDC approval process. They are not willing to provide the supporting documents as well. His lawyers is capable of getting any job offer approved from HRDSC but the problem is that employers are not willing to provide the supporting documents, which is a very big problem. Anyways, thanks for your input.

the comments you make about employers not willing to provide supporting documents sounds like an excuse for the lawyer to take your money for something he cannot deliver.

I would be very wary of a lawyer promising/guaranteeing a HRDC approval - especially for a teaching position unless your uncle is fluent in French.

Not every teacher has knowledge of french in Toronto and secondly we are not talking about a job offer as a teacher only. A job offer can be any thing from office administration to any other clearical job. Teacher´s background does not limit your options in other fields. And lawyer is not responsible of producing a job offer for him, he said bring me the job offer and i shall take care of the approval process. Then we spoke to several employers and discussed job prospects they said they can give a formal job offer but they do not want to get involved in other process and we do not want to disclose our business records to immigration authorities etc. may be you did not get my comments right.

thanks, anyway.
