Fromm everything I hear, it looks like a paradise for hard labourers and semi-skilled workers. Once you have education, it becomes of paramount importance that you have Canadian experience. If you are from England, you obviously will have a great advantage.

from what I know... there is great competition for jobs in the IT sector. Just look at how many posters are planning to come with IT training - and that does not take into consideration what Canada is training internally. If your language and technical skills are not excellent, you will have a have a hard time. In BC, animation appears to be a big thing.

In BC... what we really need are nurses, and construction trades - electricians, pipe fitters, plumbers, carpenters etc. Nobody appears to want to work with their hands any more and consequently the wages are becoming very good.

If you have oil and gas exploration experience and you could stand some very cold weather...you can make tons of money in northern Alberta.

that is all I can tell you off the top of my head.
