Oh my god, i know i am really dumb for this.
I booked my vacation ( 5 years now in canada never took vacation ), so i was sooo excited i forgot to look at my PR card. I keep it safe in the house, therefore i completely forgot it could be expired. And Guess what ????
It expired in November 08. Not long ago, the thing is i have a trip to cuba booked for this upcomming sunday the 4th of january for 15 days, something i been saving for quite some time with my wife.
So i did some research and i found out that, worst case scenario i could go to the canadian embassy in cuba and get a travel document. I am out monday morning to a CPC to see if they can help, can someone in the meantime suggest something ?

Heads up, i been in canada for 5 years, always employed, no problems with law or anything, married ( my wife have a valid PR she will be with me in this trip ).

Attending a CPC on Monday that should be more then difficult. If you can get to a CIC office and have them make an entry into FOSS that you screwed up.
Or take lots of mail with you including pay slips, Bank books anything you can think of to show your residency and get to Havana to apply for a single entry return Visa.

Thank you for your reply, really appreciated.
Looking here ( http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/index.asp ), it appears to me though that there are only CPC offices in canada, i only find CIC offices abroad.
The office i am thinking of attending is the Mississauga CPC ( i live in toronto ), there is one of those ontario service centers ( not sure of the name ), close to my house where i know they handle things like PR cards, IE, and other stuff gov related, i intend to go there for information, and head my way to the Mississauga Office right after ( depending on the conversation of course ).
I have lots of stuff that proves my residency in toronto, and also i just got an offer to work for a company and i been contracting for the past 6 months and i start one day after i come back from this trip on the 20th.
Do you think that would help ?
I heard that when you are outside canada and you are a resident and your documents are stolen/lost you can apply for a travel document at an embassy, i think that is most likely what i will do.
Worst case scenario, what would happen when i get to canada with my PR expired ????

Hi Fred L,
I realise you posted your message back in 2009 but i´m in a likewise situation right now and was wondering how it went for you.
I had not even realised my PR card had an expiration date and the only reason i found out is because i had to take my Canadian citizenship test.
Did you have to get paperwork filled out? If so, what kind did you end up getting? Or did you just make it through?
Your help in this would be greatly appreciated...i leave on vacation in 2 weeks.
