I came to Canada from Scotland with my parents when I was 3. Our landed immigrant status was with my mother´s info/passport which was lost many years ago. My parents got their citizenship aprox. 20 yrs ago when my father was sent to the states to work for a short time. My sisters and I for various reason have never applied nor have we applied for replacement copies of the landed immigrant status. Though I grew up in Ontario, I have recently moved to Nova Scotia and am having trouble getting a provincial health card. Also, though I have a S.I.N. #, I lost the actual card many years ago and I can´t get a replacement card without a permanent residence card which I can´t get without proof of landed immigrant status. I only have a 3 mt grace period with my Ontario health card before I am left with no health care/coverage!! If there is anyone who can help me I would be forever grateful.

I have had the Landed status stamped into other passports of my own but never had a "form IMM 1000" .... I have to either renew my Danish passport or ideally get my Canadian Citizenship .... if I get the new Danish Passport then I still have to have the IMM 1000 or where would I go to get that landed immigrant stamp in the old passports moved to the new passport ? is there an email site to ask these questions? ... I know I am older than dirt but my Canadian born husband alwasy wanted me to keep my Danish Citizenship and so I just never changed it .... gladly accept any help from anyone .... is there a way to fast track the citizenship thing or is that out of the question now too .... forever grateful for any help

(in reply to: landed immigrant status????) Valerie, are you attempting to qualify for Canada old age pension after residing in Canada for 2 years?
you need 10 years of residency if living inside Canada and 20 years of residency if living outside of Canada.
Nice try.
