Subject: Will CIC call y employer?
What is the probability that the CIC will contact my employer about my working experience letter? My employer will give me a letter because he thinks I need it for something else. I do not want him to know this is for Canada immigration. I do not want him to know I will be leaving the company after 10 years. I told him it was for an application to buy a house.

most likly they won´t contact your embloyer. think of the number of applications they recieve every month.

dont worry.

I don´t know about that (above response). The background check is the longest and most arduous part of the process, exhaustive and detailed. There´s a high probability of verification letters sent to current and prior employers to confirm employment history. How else could CIC confirm the key element of skilled worker qualification - experience in the claimed field? Otherwise, anyone could file false applications and immigrate without basis, and CIC is not about to let that happen.

All information I am providing is all true. I will even provide tax return, pay slips and the letter just to clear out any ambiguous issue. If they call my employer it can cause a problem in my employment with them. I just received a raise. They will think I am a freaking traitor.

Are you a slave of your employer? You have a right to plan your life and future the way you want. As long as you fulfill your job duties and responsibilities, it´s none of your employer´s business what you do with your life. Providing personal references for employees is not at all unusual, for whatever reason (which shouldn´t be relevant).

hi all:

what Islander said is happening in many countries, embloyers may fire you if they know you are looking for another job or another place, this is wrong but this is the truth.

dear islander, if they do the background check and if they call your embloyer it will be the last step in the immigration process.

belive me, don´t worry

Same situation (in reply to: Will CIC call y employer?)
Hi All, I am in similar situation. I am applying for Canada PR and my employer doesn´t provide detail job responsibilities as required by CIC. If I ask them, I´ll have to disclose my plans of Canada and I don´t want the employer to know that I intend to quit if I get my visa. Really don´t know what to do, any help is appreciated please.
