Dear IC
I am trying to get my brother to come here to Canada but his vistor visa was rejected. Is it possible to bring him here as a resident, based on the fact that i have no other family member with me here?

If you have no family, I believe you can sponsor one family member. Visitors visas are very hard to get for anyone that does not have strong ties to their home country. Money in the bank, property, family, business. Sadly, history has proved that single men have a very bad habit of not returning home at the end of their visa. It is easier for Canada to say no in the first place.

Do you mean; if I have no family in Canada or also anywhere else in the world. My situation is that i have no family members in Canada.
