| Subject: new immigrants wants to go back home |

we are in the last leg of our visa application (INDEPENDENT SKILLED WORKER CATEGORY). I was told that in about 2-3months, our Visa may already come out ( we were told that no interview is necessary).
The problem is this, my kids do not want to stay for long in canada. They want to finish their schooling here in our own country. How soon upon arrival can we go back to our native country without loosing our permanent residence status? How long can we stay outside of canada without losing our permanent residence status. It is so hard to handle kids.... I hope you could help. Thanks.

You need to be in the country 730 days every 5 year period to maintain residency.
Why did you apply if your kids don´t want to move?
