Subject: medical issues, please advise
  Hi, everyone:

I did medicals in Nov, unfortunately, they found some calcified points on one of my lungs due to old inflammory process, which I was completely unaware of.

Am I going to be rejected? I´ve been to US for more than 6 years now and I´ve never been sick. I am very worried about all these.

The best thing you could do is go back to your doctor who did your examination and ask her/him

But the doctor won´t say anything.

He did not even want me to see the report, saying everything is highly confenditial to me. But I happened to look at it and found out.

That´s not very serious unless ur disease is communicable or would put Canadian Medical system under some financial burden. Refer to this posting.

They would ask u to go for second test to confirm that u r not suffering from Tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC). Better go back to the same doctor and take his expert advice. Wish u good health and best of luck. God is great.

By the way, if you intend to live in B.C, please register for "fair pharmacy? program and register Provincial Health Plan once you arrive in B.C (most of province has similar provincial regulation towards health care) then you are eligible to have free annual whole body health check. If you have SIN and did tax return last year, no matter you are students or works , you are qualified for free prescription drugs too.

That is not true. The doctor can explain any issues that may be life threatning. Not doing so is wrong. You are in your right to understand what your diagnosis is. You are not altering results but understanding. Infact my clinic gave me a photocopy of all documents submitted for my records. Now I was not handed any originals these went directly to CIC - but my clinic explained in detail what they were doing and later if all was OK. You have paid for a complete exam and you have a right to know or discuss results. Now ofcourse they cannot be expected to alter or give you originals

Then what should I do now?

I asked the receptionist that if I can make a copy of my X-ray report, she said it is confidential so I can not make a copy. I wanted to see the doctor but he did not even went out to see me.

Later I called again and they said everything has been sent to Canada and they have no record about me.

What should I do now? All I want to know is whether anything is wrong and to know the details of the X-ray report.

medical / x rays (in reply to: medical issues, please advise)
Hi

Do not be too concerned. I cannot understand why your DMR is so hostile. Our DMR was most cooperative.

I am the subject of the posting that was referenced here. Since then I have been to the pulmonologist, radiologist and had new x rays taken,. In this new case, nothing was found and no scarring detected. It was explained that sometimes the x ray is faulty and archival, so wait until you hear.

The pulmonologist and DMR both stated that what the CIC is most interested in is whether you have TB, TB infection or AIDS.

If there is anything of concern, you will get a letter from CIC Medical in Ottawa within 1 month or so of your reports being sent to Ottawa.

You can call 613-941-2170... Leave a message and Sylvia will call you back and let you know what is going on. Be very polite and thankful... it helps. They are very nice people at the CIC Ottawa. The number is in Ottawa, CANADA.

gOOD LUCK. I am sure you are fine.

Ron

PS CIC Mail at Medical Ctr., Ottawa opens mail received after two or so weeks, so there is a delay...

I have the same finding as you.Calcified streaks in right upper lobe. After my first X ray they asked me for Sputum smear test wich takes 6-8 weeks for the final result.Sometimes they perform TB skin test. You should not be worried if the test shows as negative.
