| Subject: Can hubby cancel his Wife's PR? |

hello
One of my relatives are having some conjugal problems with her hubby and now her hubby is threatening her that he´d take steps to cancel her Permanent Residency in Canada. Can by any mean he is able to do that?
She(An Asian by birth) got her PR 9 months ago after marrying that Canadian citizen guy(used to be Asian but now a citizen).
She is a good lady by character and poses dearest love and passion for the country of Canada. she is working and getting paid well and pays regular taxes and other charges.
If anyone got any reference , please dont hesitate to mention.

No he can not retract HER PR. He is just bullshitting her hoping to control her, perhaps. She can read her rights on CIC. She might lose PR only SHE commits a crime or other serious transgressions.

Actually, the husband can get his wife in trouble if he can show that the wife just married him for PR status. Try googling a news article about a thai girl who married a much older Canadian, the Canadian is dead (she did not kill him) and she is under investigation for immigration fraud.
Personally I think, your friend is safe and so is her PR status as it will be very difficult to prove that she only married him for PR status even if she actually did so.

No, Sorry, My Relative isn´t a prostitute and not a Thai girl. She is young adult and was a bonafide and respected citizen from the country she has been migrated from. Besides, I havent found any news googling "thai girl who married a much older Canadian" , can you get me the link?
Cause for the Conjugal problems:

1. his family members always order her to do stuffs that she doesn´t want to.
2. his family want her to prepare foods for them before they get home. they never help her out with preparing cooking stuffs.
3. his family want her to have a baby which she doesn´t want at the moment as she just started working and needs more time. and before that she wants her hubby to prove more about his character before she decides to have a baby. which so far he has failed to do so.
4. He has a bad habit of staying awake at night keeping the lights on and playing movies in high volume and bugging her sleep at night.

I think she is safe as her circumstances are way different than the girl in the article. Besides, this girl actually claimed to marry the guy for her benefit which is "morally" wrong but most marriages are based on mutual benefit only.
If you do not mind, I would like to know whether she is married into Asian/Indian/Middle Eastern/etc. family.
