Subject: Is it a good sign to be asked to pay the RPRF?
On December 15th my my wife´s mother, who has now been waiting three years for permanent resident status, received request to pay a Right of Permanent Residence Fee. We paid right away but got notice that the payment has been received only a month later. Is it a good sign to be asked to pay this sum, or do further pitfalls lie ahead? I called CIC and the agent was cagey. All he said was that in between now and getting her visa my wife´s mother should not commit any crimes. Any information from anyone out there who has gone through this state would be most appreciated. Thanks! Chris
