Subject: i sponsored an american and she left me
I separated my wife 2 years ago and started a relationship with an american woman that i met in one of my trips to USA. She moved to Canada with me and after 6 months i entered an application as her sponsor.

Things were not going well, so she decided to quit the relationship and moved to back to USA. A couple of months after she left me, her PR was accepted. Thinking that she would come back i mailed it to her. Now she said our thing is over, but she has come to pick up the resident card and applied for health card.

Will I have legal implications is she stays in USA with her Canadian residency. Do I nee to notify CIC? what do I need to do if I want to re-do my life? If I meet someone else from overseas and want to sponsor her?

Thanks

she has landed... the deed is done and you are on the hook for 3 years. she still needs to maintain her residency to keep her PR valid but by that time is over your sponsorship contract will be done.

She will need to prove her residency to get her health card.

as for future sponsorships - you can´t even contemplait it until this undertaking has been completed and they will look at it very carefully because of the current situation.

you can inform CIC of your change in relationship but it may not change any of the above consequences.

I will refrain from offering you any relationship advice.

Man you are one sick puppy. While this wife is still a sticky issue, you are contemplating the possibility of sponsoring yet another woman! Chill out, pack that pecker inside the fly, and contemplate what bills you may have to cover for the current wife, in case she goes to the Govt for help. Also, start the divorce proceedings and get that done before committing bigamy. You sure sound quite stupid to send her that landing paper after knowing she left you and closed the case.

easy off (in reply to: i sponsored an american and she left me)
Sharon i appreciate the advice in regards the immigration issue. it´s obvious that i am not in a position to sponsor anyone now. but if she made the decision to not live in the country, does not that end my obligations as sponsor?

SureShot you back off, you might be an expert in immigration issues but i don´t know how much you know about relationships. without having any details, don´t jump into conclusions.

i wish you well,

thanks again

While I am no relationship expert,

she lied when landing as they ask about the relationship

and you were a fool as have now committed yourself to 3 years of on the hook if she comes here and goes on welfare .....
