Subject: Queries regarding dependant's Passport, IELTS, etc
  Hi All,

I am listing down my queries with great hope and I´m sure you all will help me out. I will try to give details as much as possible, but if you all have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

My Background: I am currently in US on a L1 visa with my wife (she´s on L2). We have been living here for the past 3 years and last November we were blessed with a baby boy. I am planning to apply for Canadian PR under the skilled worker category, but I am not sure if my application will be processed and approved for the reasons given below.

1) My son´s SSN card has not arrived yet (he was born here in US), so I won´t be able to apply for his US passport until I get his SSN.

2) Since we don´t have his passport yet, I will not be able to enter his passport details on the PR application form, and I don´t know if Canadian immigration guys will consider this as an incomplete application or if they will accept it for now and ask for my son´s passport details later.

3) I have an autonomous MCA degree from India. Of course the institute is govt. recognized and it is even ISO certified, but it is not recognized by UGC or any other technical body. Will this degree be considered for immigration purposes ?

4) I have been living in US for 3 yrs, and have had all my education in English, but English is not really my mother-tongue. In that case, will I be required to appear for the IELTS test ? Would it be OK if I submit my application forms to CIU first and then appear for the test (before submitting it to the visa office) ?

5) Also, if I´m not mistaken, I need to send my application forms to the CIU first and then if everything goes well, I will have to send them to the visa office in Buffalo, is that correct ?

I know these are a lot of questions, but I would really appreciate if someone who knows the answers could give me some direction.

Thanks in advance.

As for your son´s passport - its not necessary. Just send them a copy of the birth certificate and a letter explaining the delay in getting your son´s passport. You can then send a Passport copy at a later date.

I was faced with a similar situation for my son. And thats what we did.

Usually, they do as Academic is more difficult of the two.
