To Sharon.. (in reply to: Have you read the news??)
Well do you think it is too funny to be waiting the process and going crazy while this corrupted woman is promising permanent residency to people who helped her with her campaign?? Don´t you think that is a very 3rd world country way to manage things?? Which country do you live in Sharon???

I am Canadian. I am not suggesting I approve of what she did. I am curious about what causes you to hate this person.

Sorry Sharon (in reply to: Have you read the news??)
Sorry Sharon: but Immigration Process is driving me crazy, sour, I am even shaking at nights just to think my life and destiny with my loved one is under the criteria of this people who don´t know anything about us. We are just another file for them... I apologize if I came across with such an aggresive and hateful mannerism..
Peace to all of you !!!

Funny...
Bureaucrats (in reply to: Have you read the news??)
It doesn´t make any difference who the minister is, the bureaucrats in charge of immigration will still remain the same.

Therefore, change in ministers will not dramatically change any operational procedures or shorten any wait time.

Judy Sgro or whoever it is... (in reply to: Have you read the news??)
Well I was just listning to the radio yesterday and I heard from the new misiter... where he said, its going to be tough to change a department whish is so slow and behind in all aspects. To make this department run fine will take enormous amount of work.

Now I agree with him... such a poorly run department... needs a lot of renovations...

And yeah this is so true... bureaucracy kills... so what does that imply for us... People waiting for immigration will have to just wait...

This is what I have understood... Canadian immigration is not a bad process... its a easy process... its just time consuming...

And we have to understand.. all these immigration officers work according to the guidlines provided to them... so if you cooperate and send them the documents requested on time and as per the guidlines published by the respective consulate... I can guarantee that things will work out absolutly fine...

Cheers... and Good luck to all

the trouble is, even if they change the rules... there are all of us folks in line that they still have to process the old way.

The biggest problem is the waiting and how to change that. Canada is not about to increase its annual quota of immigrants by anything significant- Canada simply cannot absorb them. So what to do... make immigration harder so fewer people apply; create a lottery so if you are not picked in year 1 you start all over again! I am not crazy about either idea.

The system is pretty straight forward. if you read the manuals you will see that there is not a lot of room for ifs and maybe´s. either the candidate qualifies or they do not. either they pass their medical- or they do not; ether they pass their background check or they do not.

So I, like you, am hoping they figure out a better way but I have no idea what that might be. I know the government is conducting public consultation in the spring. who knows what might come of it.

Thankfully, governments come and go, ministers come and go, but the Canadians that work everyday at the CIC offices really could care less about such things. they simply carry on doing their jobs.
